Ian was born in Jakarta 1987. He began his music study at AMI (Yamaha Music Foundation) since age of 7, taking Electone study till he was 9 years. At 11 years old (1999) he entered the "Yayasan Pendidikan Musik" majoring violin, and graduated after 6 years in 2005 with several prizes achievements.
In 2005 he continued studying music education at Universitas Negeri Jakarta majoring violin. After completing his Bachelor of Education degree, Ian teaches in several music schools. Currently, as one of boards at WaltZio, Ian is also full-time educator for Strings and EMP.
Besides teaching, Ian also played in many events, and in addition to that, he also leads his own crossover world music band called Tabusek Con Ensemble. Now with Waltzio chamber and orchestra, he becomes one of the tutors and also the principal for 2nd violin.
